New England’s only non-profit tournament to fund sustainable fishery projects and fisherman’s rights!
In memory of Captain Steven James (1960-2014)
The North Atlantic Monster Shark Tournament is a non-profit Shark Tournament focused on funding the education and science for sustainable fisheries management which will preserve the natural ecosystem on which all ocean life and future fishing generations can depend on. ALL of our profits are donated to sustainable fishing organizations and causes. Our tournament is more than just just fishing, it is fishing for a cause. Our staff at the weigh station is accompanied by students and scientists from The School for Marine Science and Technology as well as marine biologists from the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries. There they take samples, perform necropsies, and educate the public about the these beautiful pelagic species. Last year we had 40 boats entered and we had a banquet with over 200 people. Our world class fishing event, with a 30 year history of angling excellence, is July 13-16, with fishing days July 14th and 15th. You can get a great idea of what we are all about at www.sharksfundfishing.com, our Facebook page, or by searching the North Atlantic MONSTER Shark Tournament.
